Despite facing breakup rumors, singers Cheryl Cole, 34, and Liam Payne, 24, stepped out for a date night at the BRITs on Thursday.
Payne was seen whispering in Cole’s ear and kissing her on the cheek on the red carpet as cameras flashed.
Earlier this week, Cole addressed the rumors as she promoted her charity campaign in England, telling the BBC, “Do I find it frustrating? No, it doesn’t bother me. My focus is only on this. It’s taken me seven years to get here and none of that matters. This is the most important part for me.”
Over the weekend, DailyMail.com reported that the two were “absolutely on the rocks.” A source added, “It’s very difficult for them and extremely sad. Things go from being very calm to being very tough. The crux of the problem is that Liam has to be away a lot. Cheryl has always understood he would have to work hard and be absent but the reality is that it’s not an easy thing to deal with. This relationship is hanging by a thread. Both of them are devastated.”
Liam recently opened up about the possibility of marrying Cheryl in the future, saying on a podcast, “I see marriage as more of a religious thing and I’m not really a religious person, so I know it’s not really in the cards for me at the moment… We have a baby together. Our love for each other can’t be more serious, so it is what it is, I guess.”
